Confidential mental health support remains one of Restart’s most
important services. Throughout the 2025-26 season, players accessed
counselling and specialist wellbeing support to help them navigate
challenges both during and after their playing careers.
Whether dealing with injury, transition, low mood, anxiety or personal
circumstances, Restart ensures players can access professional
support when they need it most, providing a safe, confidential space
to protect their wellbeing.
SUPPORTING LIFE BEYOND RUGBY
Retirement from elite rugby is about far more than leaving the game.
For many players, it means adjusting to a new routine, finding a
renewed sense of purpose and rebuilding the community that rugby
once provided.
In response to the insights gathered through the RPA’s Retired Player
Survey 2026, Restart continues to strengthen the support available to
former players and their families. For the first time this year, Restart has
funded a pilot programme working with Dementia UK for an Admiral
Nurse Clinic.
FUNDRAISING
Throughout 2025-26, increased fundraising through events including
the Guinness & Oysters Lunch, LIT 7s, The Rugby Awards and Meet
Your Mountain has helped Restart meet the growing needs of current
and former players and their families.
